The World Cafe is an innovative approach to large-group dialogue that has been widely adopted around the world. In this process, groups-often numbering in the hundreds of people–participate together in evolving rounds of dialogue at small cafe-style tables while at the same time remaining part of a single, larger, connected conversation. Participants record key insights in words and pictures on paper tablecloths. Intimate conversations link and build on each other as people move between groups, cross-pollinate ideas, and discover new insights into questions or issues that are important in their life, work, or community. As the network of connections increases, knowledge sharing grows. The collective wisdom of the group becomes more accessible, and innovative possibilities for action emerge.  It creates employee engagement like no other approach since all employees can be involved in the conversation at one time.  It builds consensus and understanding in an innovative and creative way.
